Your score for a board is compared with the scores obtained by all the other pairs sitting in the same direction. You get two matchpoints for each pair that you beat and one matchpoint for each tie. It makes no difference how big the scores are or how big the difference is. To convert to % this number is divided by the maximum achievable matchpoints.
Your score for a board is compared to the score at every other table and the result converted to IMPs just as if it were a team match. These numbers are added up and then divided by the number of comparisons made. This gives you your average IMPs compared to all other tables. These average IMPs are added up for the whole session.
